FALL FUN IN THE AUSTIN AREA
October is here...Let the fall festivities begin!
Check out all these great fall festivals you can enjoy as the weather gets cooler and our hearts get filled up with thankfulness.
Sweet Eats Fall Festival (Georgetown): Sept. 9-Nov. 12
Sweet Eats Fruit Farm in Georgetown provides a full day of fun to ring in fall. There’s a pumpkin patch and pumpkin house with perfect spots for photos. Then you can play with the apple cannons, jump on the big bounce pad, climb the tire mountain to the slides, and pet and feed all the animals.
Robinson Family Farm Fall Fest (Temple): weekends Sept. 23-Nov. 5
Head to Temple on the weekends for all kinds of activities. There’s live music, farm animals, chainsaw wood carving, and a wine and beer garden. Kids will love the corn pit, barrel train, and bounce pad!
Indian Springs Ranch Pumpkin Patch (Manchaca): Sept. 23-Oct. 29
Come see some of the exotic animals at Indian Springs Ranch while also getting all those cozy fall feelings. Check out the pumpkin patch, photo ops and playground, and on the weekends, enjoy the jumping pillow, face painting, and food and craft vendors.
Sweet Berry Farm Harvest of Fall Fun (Marble Falls): Sept. 23-Nov. 5
This Marble Falls festival has plenty of things to do (and take home) from pumpkin painting to scarecrow stuffing to flower picking. Go on a hayride, find your way through the mazes, and of course pick a pumpkin from the patch.
Pumpkin Nights: Sept. 21-Oct. 30
This has become an annual tradition for us. It’s good with kids, but would’ve been super fun as a date night without them. There are thousands of (fake) pumpkins carved and arranged in the coolest ways, and you walk through all the different scenes. They are mostly the same year to year, so keep that in mind if you’ve been before.
Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival (Dripping Springs): Sept. 23 – Oct. 29
There’s a lot going on at this fall festival! So many fun things for both kids and adults! Games like giant Jenga, cornhole, potato sack races; activities like a baby goat fashion show, pony rides, and chalk graffiti; and lots of photo ops.
Mama Mary’s Farm and Pumpkin Patch (Creedmoor): Sept. 30 – Nov. 12
Come visit the farm! There’s animals, a hay maze, a hay ride, a tractor tire playground, rubber duck races and more.
Whispering Pines Harvest Festival (Bastrop): weekends in October
Spend a weekend afternoon in Bastrop, and enjoy a hayride, pumpkin patch, and games! Kids 12 and under are free. There’s not much info for the 2023 festival yet, but their Facebook page does say it’s coming back for this season!
Texas Pumpkin Fest (Leander): Sept. 30 – Oct. 29
This festival in Leander has a giant pumpkin patch and lots of fun. It moved to a new bigger location last year to make room for even more fall excitement. Axe throwing, pumpkin smashing, rides (big and small), face painting and games.
Fall Fun at Elgin Christmas Tree Farm (Elgin): Weekends in October, starting Oct. 7
This Elgin farm is a favorite of local families for Christmas time, but did you know they have a fall festival too? While they are scaling back from years past, this would be a great fall outing with small kids who don’t need dozens of activities or if you only have a couple of hours. There will be photo ops, animals, rubber duck races, one maze, a train ride and a hay ride.
Halloween Children’s Concert: Oct. 22
Bring your kids to enjoy the Austin Symphony Orchestra performing fun superhero and Harry Potter themed music by John Williams and Danny Elfman. Costumes welcome!
Happy Fall, yall!!!
